Q: Who is this class for?
A: The experience is designed for photographers at all stages- whether you’re just beginning your photography journey or have been shooting professionally for years. The content is flexible and hands-on, so beginners will learn strong foundations and practical techniques, while advanced photographers will deepen their craft and walk away with fresh approaches to shooting, directing, and refining their personal style.
We’ll cover:
Creative techniques – from film formats to digital workflows, lighting approaches, and how to capture authentic portraits.
The business side of photography – pricing, pitching to brands, client communication, and building a sustainable career.
Working as a full-time photographer – honest insight into what it looks like day-to-day, balancing creativity with business, and carving out your own path in the industry.
Q: What equipment should I bring?
A: Please bring your digital camera along with any film cameras you’d like to work with. This event is open to both digital and film photographers, and we’ll be exploring techniques that apply to both.
In addition, participants will have the rare opportunity to shoot with an 8x10 large format camera as well as Polaroid film- and you’ll get to leave with your own prints from the day.
NYC PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE
Master the art of storytelling through photography as you photograph models in an inspiring NYC studio setting. NYC Participants will have the rare opportunity to shoot Polaroid 8x10 film and learn the process.
LOS ANGELES PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE
